Store

We sell new and used books, local artwork, games, and a few quality art supplies.

Need to make space on your bookcase?

Bring us your gently used books and we’ll give you a discount on your next purchase! We also have a “no trash” policy. If we cannot use a book, we either donate it to the library or recycle it depending on the condition. Your books will not end up in the garbage.

Events

Book Club:

Banned Book Club– every book we discuss has been banned somewhere… read to try to figure out WHY the book was banned, and join us for a discussion –last Tuesday of each month.

Art Club:

Need an excuse to work on your art? Bring your current project to How Novel and spend a couple hours socializing while you add to your masterpiece! No lessons, per se, but your fellow artists would be more than happy to share tips of the trade. How Novel has supplies for anyone who needs a starter kit. Make time for yourself and your creative expression from 3-5PM on the second Saturday of the month.

Wanted

Local Artists and Authors

Local artists and authors need a place to show off their wares, but often find it difficult to compete with “big box” published literature and genre specific galleries.  We provide a place where these creators may share their gifts with our community, and have the opportunity to sell their work on commission.  Let us know if you have work you would like to share!

Art Instructors

How Novel likes to offer art workshops. If you have an artistic skill that you would like to share with others, How Novel would love to collaborate to make that happen. Let’s plan a creative event!

Art Club

We had a successful Art Club last Saturday. I started this sculpture during September’s Art Club, and then put off finishing it until October. Saturday morning I got all my materials set up, and it was really hard to make myself work the book-side of the store while I waited for the 3PM club time.Continue reading “Art Club”
