Fresh Perspectives

Pre-Folk Festival market sure was a blast. I loved all the out-of-town visitors! Talking to them and sharing the Story Lorry’s history, as well as hearing their own stories was inspirational.

I was told about a fellow mobile bookstore on the other side of the country, and when I went to their website, I am refreshed in knowing someone out there shares my passion and my values. It reminded me that I love the freedom a mobile business provides my family, and that I love reaching people in a way brick-and-mortar stores can’t, literally and experientially.  It made me want to join more venues, and travel farther, the ultimate goal being cross-country someday -always coming back to Butte, of course.

Another couple reminded me of the miracle of the human body and how much I love the extra movement I get to experience during the summer, even if it’s just walking around the market for a while. How often do we complain about exercise, when really it’s just providing extra opportunities to let your body move.  Maybe I’m partly moved by the conversation because I just recovered from a painful pulled muscle in my lower back and I’m relishing my returned flexibility, but in any case,  I’m inspired to incorporate even more movement in my life,  and maybe will even try extending some summer activities into winter.

(Not all Story Lorry conversations need to be book related 😉.)

Now that a few days have passed, I still feel inspired, but know it will take time to make changes. Baby steps, as they say.

I will get to experience a new venue -Butte Community Market at Clark Park, 4PM on Thursday.

And I will be chatting to Anaconda’s Bicycle shop (the one adjacent to Anaconda Market) the following Thursday!

Thank you all for coming out and supporting the Story Lorry, even if it’s just through conversation. When your words are filled with loving intent, they can mean just as much as your financial participation in the store.

See you soon, and Happy Reading!
