November News

How Novel is now one month old! I feel like a new parent telling people how old their infant is. It started out as, “We’ve been open 3 days,” and then, “We are just over three weeks old,” and now I’ll have to start describing our existence in months!

We are excited to be incorporating a new artist in the store. Lauren Kruckenberg has some original oil paintings and prints adorning the walls and shelves around the store. She has a smooth, surreal style that would be worth a trip to the store to see.

This month we will continue having our two book clubs and art critiques at 6PM. I’m especially excited to have Paul Vang, author of Golden Years, Golden Hours attend our November 19th book club as we discuss his newest book!

How Novel is a family-run store, so we will be taking some time off around holidays. This November, we will be closed the 25th-27th so we can enjoy some good food and festivities with family. To make up for it, when we reopen we will get to have our first Small Business Saturday! We’ll celebrate by having 10% OFF EVERYTHING IN THE STORE. There’s a holiday gift giving mantra out there that a person ought to get “Something they want, something they need, something to wear, and something to read.” How Novel wants to do its part to provide the latter for a good price, so come visit us on November 28th for that special discount.

We had a great October. Thank you to all the people who came in to congratulate us on our opening. We feel very warmly welcomed as we enter into this chilly month.
