I finally ordered the cool, pocket-sized watercolor kits (with refillable paint pans)   and pocket-sized watercolor paper!  I used these exact items last summer to paint my own souvenirs and postcards.  Painting really forces you to take in the details that you miss when snapping a hundred digital photos.
