One-Hit Wonders in Books

I’ve been having some “lightbulb moments” as I’ve been sorting though some of our book donations… “Why does this name sound familiar? OH! It’s the same author that wrote [insert title].” It makes me curious if these lesser known titles are as good as their famous counterparts.

I know Louis Sacher from Wayside School, you know him from Holes, but does anyone know him from Someday Angeline?
Madeleine L’Engle wrote A Wrinkle in Time, plus a stack of other stuff apparently.
Okay… Terry Pratchett isn’t a one-hit wonder, but he wrote books that aren’t Discworld? And for kids, no less!
The Shack was everywhere in 2008. And then Young wrote one more.
I get so lost reading the font of Hiddensee, that it took me months to notice, “Hey, that’s the Wicked author!”
We read Margaret Atwood’s Handmaid’s Tale for Banned Book Club last year, so I felt a little silly that it took me so long to realize Cat’s Eye over in general fiction was another Atwood original.
I’d get excited reading Welcome to the World Baby Girl the closer I got to delivering Juniper, and then I realized… hey, it’s the Fried Green Tomatoes chick!
